UNDENATURED COLLAGEN TYPE 2

Avicenna’s first foray was to identify a method for purification of undenatured cartilage. Protein purification is a common technique used in areas ranging from health diagnostics to pharmaceutical manufacturing. Starting with an understanding of how collagen is purified on a lab scale, Avicenna worked to improve the existing techniques and make them applicable for manufacturing.

After initial success was confirmed by an independent laboratory, our researchers began work on improving yield of the purification and a scale-up model to develop a process which could supply undenatured collagen of unparalleled quality at competitive prices.

TESTING SPECIFICATIONS:

  •      STERILIZATION

  •      EXTRACTION OF THE COLLAGEN

  •      SEPARATION OF THE COLLAGEN

  •      CENTRATION OF THE PURIFIED COLLAGEN

what is protein purity?

A totally pure protein sample contains a single species of protein and no contaminants such as tissue, salts, or water. Assessment of protein purity is quantified by detection of these contaminants, which allows scientists to determine how pure or concentrated a particular sample is.

hydrolyzed collagen type 2

Avicenna’s Hydrolyzed Collagen Type 2 offering using techniques to mimic the body’s natural hydrolysis process and create consistent results of optimum low molecular weight. Avicenna’s hydrolyzed collagen was developed by starting with an understanding of how collagen interacts with the body.

Avicenna’s proprietary process hydrolyzes collagen as it would naturally in our digestive system with a pH controlled environment. This allows for control and consistency, and ultimately, a superior end product.

PURC2h is a white powder. Naturally, all processes will produce some coloring in the product, but naturally white products without additives was the achieved goal.

what is hydrolysis?

The word hydrolysis stems from the roots hydro (water) and lysis (to untie). Hydrolysis is a chemical reaction whereby a molecular bond is “untied” in a reaction involving water (Loudon). Hydrolysis occurs in the stomach as part of digestion in order to break food down into the nutrients that the body needs to grow and sustain itself.

advanced purity testing kits

Through the process of developing the purest collagen type 2, Avicenna Nutraceutical was able to refine and optimize purity testing through proprietary methods that offered more accurate and consistent results than currently available methods.

CollaCHKTM provides our optimized purity testing method into an easy to use testing kit - one that aims to raise industry standards and, in the end, make a better end product for companies and consumers alike.

this product is still in development and coming soon.

why should we change the testing method?

With our research team, we were able to discover the considerable holes in the current standard of testing. Avicenna created a proprietary test to replace the previous, crude method of approximation for determining collagen content. The original method called for determining the hydroxyproline content of the sample and multiplying by a factor of 8 to determine collagen content (because hydroxyproline accounts for approximately 1/8 the weight of intact collagen). This method leaves room for inaccuracy and does not account for other factors.
